What is meant by Supervision

Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 an employer must "provide such information, instruction, training or supervision to employees of the employer as is necessary to enable those persons to perform their work in a way that is safe and without risks to health."

WorkSafe has produced Guidance Notes explaining:

  1. Creating an environment for effective supervision;
  2. Supervising workers with specialist knowledge or skills; and
  3. Checklist for creating an environment for effective supervision.
