A worker at a Cargill precooked beef plant in Nebraska City, Neb., died early Saturday after the hydraulic lift he was using to replace shelving units fell over, according to media reports.

A preliminary investigation determined that Timothy L. Wilson, 49, suffered internal injuries in the fall at the Excel Specialty Products plant and died a short time later at a nearby hospital. An autopsy also will be performed.

Cargill and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration reportedly are looking into the incident to learn more about its cause.
