Rohnert Park man's arm crushed by meat grinder (USA)

SAN ANSELMO — State authorities are investigating after a grocery store worker from Rohnert Park had his arm crushed in a meat grinder at his Marin County workplace.

The San Francisco Chronicle says the 28-year-old man suffered a compound fracture of his right forearm in the accident, which took place Monday at Andronico's Market in San Anselmo.

Peter Melton of the state Division of Occupational Safety and Health says the man had surgery on Tuesday. There's no word on his condition.

A Cal-OSHA inspector went to the store Tuesday.

The Chronicle says a market representative didn't respond to calls for comment.
