Abattoir worker airlifted after suffering head injury

A man has been flown to the Alfred Hospital after a being hit by a heavy object at an abattoir in Stawell on Saturday 14 September 3013.

Rural Ambulance Victoria were called at about 2.45pm and reported the unknown object fell about three metres, causing head and neck injuries to the man, aged in his 30s. He was taken to a Stawell hospital in a critical condition before being airlifted to the Alfred Hospital.

Ambulance spokesman John Mullen said paramedics arrived at the Abattoir Road address to find the man unconscious and suffering major blunt trauma to the head.
